Come pound some fresh kalo! Bring your board and stone (if you have), two plastic containers, a healthy snack, and payment for kalo. Those with fever or a communicable disease should refrain from pounding poi until next month. Keiki are welcome. Kalo is $3.00 per lb.

Kahuku Golf Course Beach Clean Up
Kahuku Golf Course Beach Park is in dire need of our help from being overrun with trash and micro-plastics! Please join us if you’re able to help. Bring water, sunscreen and gloves. If you have any buckets or sand sifters, those are great, too. The parking lot is small, so please do your best to carpool! Also, please arrive promptly by 9 am so we can immediately do the safety briefing and walk out to the beach. Keiki are welcome. Mahalo for your assistance!

Ke Kahua O Kuali'i is working with State Parks to cleanup, and revitalize a portion of Kawainui for public use. We want to see Kawainui being used by the community as a place to learn about Hawai'i and the culture of Hawai'i and to do that, we need the help of volunteers, lots of volunteers! Pumpkin Carving Festival Volunteer
The Pumpkin Carving Festival's fundraising event brings together families and friends during the Fall season for pumpkin carving fun and festivities. To help make this year's event a success, we need the assistance of volunteers like you! Tasks range from registration desk, Pumpkin Patch Host, Costume Character, passing out treats, resetting tables, etc. Refreshments will be provided for all volunteers during each shift. Lunch will be provided for volunteers who help two shifts. Only keiki ages 16+ will be allowed to volunteer.

Malama Sydney Akase Community Garden
Come volunteer at the Sydney Akase Community Garden, an educational garden with natural permaculture landscaping techniques, no pesticides, and community garden beds. The Blue Zones Project hold workshops here periodically. You will be gardening in the shared raised beds spaces, and community areas by pulling weeds, maintaining the walkways, planting, watering and other gardening needs. Please bring sunscreen and bugspray, water bottle. There are no bathroom facilities at the garden so be sure to stop at Puohala Elementary prior to arriving.

We will be revitalizing the fishpond by removing invasive plants & clearing old debris. Our efforts will make space for native plants to thrive, reduce sediment inputs, & improve water quality for fish to grow. Please bring a hat, reef safe sunscreen, bathing suit, hiking boots, tabis (water shoes)*, gloves*, protective clothing, water bottle, hand tools (loppers, hand saws)*, and a beach chair. *We can provide if you donʻt have any. We will be maintaining pickleweed, invasive jellyfish removal as well as bagging more old dry material. We will finish with a potluck & talking story. Meet at Kalepolepo Park in North Kīhei, near Koʻieʻie Fishpond. Please bring water, protective gloves and close-toed water shoes (such as tabis). We also strongly suggest that you wear an old long sleeve t-shirt to protect your body from scratches. Volunteer work will mainly consist of lifting heavy (25+ lb) rocks and replacing them on the fishpondʻs wall. Keiki are welcome. *This event can count towards workshop and community service hours.

Kalalau La`au Nature Walk (KAUAI)
Please come and join us as we visit one of Kaua`i's hidden jewels, the Kalalau Rare Plant Exclosure, a DLNR project on a 10 acre parcel. It is an easy walk in the enclosed area where you can learn about native plants and their uses and hear some mo`olelo about the area. Kupe`e Making(optional): make a small floral wrist band with plants collected from the area. Please wear covered shoes, and long plants. Keiki are welcome. Bring lunch and water. You may use the bathrooms located at the Kalalau Lookout prior to starting. There will be no cell phone service.

Involvement may include a variety of different activities including mangrove and limu removal, debarking mangrove for hale building, exploring mauka lands, kupuna sharing, etc. The work concludes with dep sharing and an `Ai Pono lunch by Uncle Herbert.
