Paepae o He'eia Community Workday
Join us for a Fishpond Workday! All ages are welcome but children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Tasks include moving rock and coral, filling buckets, hauling floating barges through the water, cutting/pulling out invasive mangrove, invasive limu removal, trash pickup, and reconstruction of the kuapa. Everyone MUST wear covered shoes or tabis. Dress to get wet and muddy; YOU WILL GET WET AND MUDDY!! Bring a refillable water bottle. Well have ice water in a jug for refills. Arrive a few minutes early to park and sign-in upon arrival. **PARKING** All of our workdays are staged from Heeia State Park (Ulumau Village). Theres ample parking at the State Park. Find a stall and park. As you enter the park theres an asphalt driveway immediately on the right leading down to the water. Well be meeting there in the morning. **WEATHER** If weather is stormy and rainy, there is a chance that we may cancel the workday. If there is any question, cancellation will happen over email. If you dont see a cancellation email, the workday is a GO!

Come pound some fresh kalo! Bring your board and stone (if you have), two plastic containers, a healthy snack, and payment for kalo. Those with fever or a communicable disease should refrain from pounding poi until next month. Keiki are welcome. Kalo is $3.00 per lb.

Hui O Ko`olaupoko: He`eia Estuary Restoration
Experience ecosystems and restoration practices that differ from our existing mauka stream restoration projects, while learning about the history of the area. Please wear clothes and close-toed shoes (required) that you don’t mind getting very wet and muddy. Bring a water bottle and sun/rain/bug protection. Keiki are welcome.

Hui O Ko`olaupoko: Kaha Garden
Learn how to improve the local environment through the use of native vegetation and xeriscape gardens. The project replaced grass and invasive species along 150 yards of stream bank with native Hawaiian plants which can be used for soil stabilization, biofiltration and water conservation. Keiki are welcome.

Maui Nui Botanical Garden's Weed and Pot Club
Help the Weed and Pot Club pot Native Hawaiian Plants, and pull weeds in the garden. Come ready to work with garden attire and covered shoes. Tools, gloves, sunscreen, refreshments and expertise provided! Note: due to safety concerns, only keiki ages 10+ are allowed.
